Conspiracy of Silence, Sam's New Book a Thriller
Award winning author and Nigerian-Italian, Augustine Sam, has just released another novel, The Conspiracy of Silence, a mystery and suspenseful thriller set on Los Angeles California which the publishers describe as an “expose on the murky world of high stakes politics,” its attendant scandals and underhand dealings.
The book which went on sale September 30, “depicts the life-and-death struggle of a young female lawyer who goes to great lengths to outwit a diabolical trio with a very dark secret in order to save her lover from a murder rap.”
The book blurb hints on how the conscience of a city steeped in “sexism, vanity and hypocrisy is pricked by the brutal murder of a mysterious woman in a park who turns out to be the State governor's wife. Then a dazzlingly intricate shuffle of volatile links leads the police to the theory of secret lover/blackmailer, and to the indictment of one of Hollywood's most influential blacks.
A suspenseful mixture of crime, tragedy, passion, intrigue and conspiracy, the book lives up to it's title and proves to be another of the author's mastery of the craft.
Sam's other works include Take Back the Memory, which was awarded a 5-star medal by Readers' Favorite and a collection of poems, Flashes of Emotion, a 2015 International Book Award Finalist.
